The lV International Piano Competition “Ciudad de Vigo” was held in this edition from October 15 to 19, 2020, in online format (due to the pandemic). It had a great international impact, with almost 300 participants from 47 countries pre-registering this year and finally selecting 100 of them, from more than 33 countries, to participate. Among those registered, there were more than 20 Spanish participants from many parts of Spain.
The jury was made up of great figures worldwide (Martha Argerich, Pablo Galdo and Sergio Tiempo). They awarded the following awards:
The III International Piano Competition “Ciudad de Vigo”, was held this year from April 16 to 20, 2019. It took place in Vigo at the Martín Códax Auditorium of the Superior Conservatory. It obtained a record number of participants, participating finally pianists from more than 38 countries.
The jury was composed of great figures worldwide (Martha Argerich, president of jury, Nelson Freire, Tamás Vásáry, Pablo Galdo and Sergio Tiempo). All of them pointed that the level was very high. They decided to award the following awards:

The International Piano Competition "Ciudad de Vigo" is an initiative by the Classical Music Association of Galicia.
The second edition (2018), took place in Vigo at the Martin Códax Auditorium and Auditório del Concello de Vigo, from March 24th to March 28th, 2018. It was very successful, and were selected participants from more than 30 countries.
From the participants who went to the semifinal, 6 of them reached the final (representing China, Russia, Japan and Romania). A spectacular representation of talent and virtuosity closed this magnificent edition with the presence of numerous public and authorities.
The jury was made up of great figures worldwide (Tamás Vásáry, Cyprien Katsaris, András Kemenes, Jorge Luis Prats and Pablo Galdo). All of them highlighted that they had not seen such a high level in any competition where they had previously been. They awarded the following prizes:

The International piano competition “City of Vigo” is an initiative by the Classical Music Association of Galicia. The idea comes of competition comes from its artistic director Pablo Galdo.
Its first edition (Zoltán Kocsis) took place in Vigo at the Martin Códax Auditorium, from April 8 to 12, 2017, and had participants from more than 20 countries.
26 participants went into the semifinal and 7 of them reached the final. Those finalists came from Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, Russia and Ukraine. A spectacular representation of talent and virtuosity closed this magnificent edition with the presence of numerous public and authorities.
The jury was composed by the following renowned pianists: Pablo Galdo (President of the jury), Tamás Vásáry, Luis Felipe Sá, Enrique Bagaría and Miguel Baselga, who delivered the following prizes:
