Welcome of the artistic director

The international piano competition ¨City of Vigo¨ will surprise you, either if you have previously participated in this kind of competition or not. In fact, the idea of this competition was to break the usual patterns, and these are the main reasons:

• The competition was raised as a recital, divided into three rounds in which you as participants could decide on a repertoire of your choice.
• It is one of the few competitions in the world where there is no age limit, since there shouldn’t be any barrier to making music.
• The jury that accompanies me is a group of respected and high-quality musicians, all of them are different, but they share a deep respect for music.
• It is one of the competitions in the world which offers many awards to the participants.
• We believe in this competition and, for that reason, we do it with passion and great spirit.

As a musician, pianist, teacher, artistic director and member of the jury, I would like to encourage you to participate and, I warmly and personally greet each of you.
