Pablo Galdo, artistic director and pre-selection jury

The pianist and founder of the international piano competition "Ciudad de Vigo", has piano training in Spain, Hungary, Austria and Russia, and has offered concerts in more than 35 countries, also performing with renowned musicians. He has offered master classes in renowned institutions around the world.
He currently combines his concert work with his position as a piano professor at the Superior conservatory of Vigo and at the Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid.

Natalia Trull, pre-selection jury

Natalia Trull is a laureate of the following international competitions: in Belgrade (Yugoslavia, 1983, the 1st Prize), International Tchaikovsky Competition (Moscow, 1986, the 2nd Prize), Monte Carlo International Competition (Monaco, 1993, Grand Prix) 
She was born in Leningrad. In 1963-1974 she studied at the Special Secondary Music School of Leningrad Conservatory (the class of teacher T. Rumshevich). 

Imre Rohmann, pre-selection jury

He was born in Budapest (Hungary) in 1953. He started playing the piano at the age of four. He studied piano and composition at the Bartók Conservatory and then piano and chamber music at the Liszt Academy in Budapest under the tutelage of Kornél Zemplèni, Ferenc Rados, György Kurtág, András Mihály and Albert Simon. In addition, he has participated in master classes by Jörg Demus.

Constantin Sandu, pre-selection jury

The performing art of Constantin Sandu has developed under the influence of his Romanian masters – Sonia Ratescu, Constantin Nituand, later on, Constantin Ionescu-Vovuat the "Ciprian Porumbescu" Higher Music Conservatory of Bucharest – and of other outstanding individualities such as SequeiraCosta, Dimitri Bashkirov, Helena Sá e Costa and Tânia Achot.

Jitka Fowler Frankova, pre-selection jury

Mrs. Jitka Fowler Frankova is a Czech pianist and piano teacher currentlylivingin Prague. She is a graduate of theUniversity of Music in Graz,AustriawithMaster's Degrees in Teaching and Concert Performance as well asofRice University, Houston, TX, USAwith aMaster's Degree and a Doctoral Degreein Music.

Igor Petrin, pre-selection jury

The artistry of Igor Petrin has thrilled audiences and inspired students the world over. A native of Siberia with its endless forests, rivers and lakes, Igor Petrin has inherited and personified two of the richest and most noble artistic traditions of the world: the Russian piano school of Heinrich Neuhaus, whose last student V.Kastelski was I.Petrin's teacher at the Moscow Conservatory, and Konstantin Stanislavsky, the great actor and director whose investigation into the forming and nurturing

Efraín González, pre-selection jury

This magnificent duo of virtuous pianists has stood out for the majesty and refinement of their performances in both one and two pianos, as well as a perfect mastery of the technique that electrifies and captivates the audience from the first moment on stage.

Coming from such different cultures, Gerwig and González enjoy very diverse but complementary instincts and talents, this gives their music a dynamic range and an energy that make their interpretation fascinating.

Ernest So, pre-selection jury

Critics have hailed Ernest So as a performer who exerts a “phenomenon presence on stage” and one who “evokes the romanticism and technical brilliance of a 19th century pianist”.  Mr. So’s early manifestation as concert pianist brought prizes such as the Bes​t Performer A​ward in Singapore and later the Beethoven Trophy.  His years at the Juilliard School were spent under the artistic influence and instruction of renowned Beethoven scholar Jacob Lateiner (1928 – 2010); other teachers include Solomon Mikowsky, the late Constance Keene, and Jonathan Feldman.

Alexandre Moutouzkine, pre-selection jury

In recognition of Russian-American pianist Alexandre Moutouzkine’s early participation in the prestigious Van Cliburn International Competition, where he won the Special Award for Artistic Potential at age 19, the Dallas Morning Newsstated that Mr. Moutouzkine "played Brahms' Op. 117 Intermezzi more beautifully, more movingly, than I've ever heard them. Nádia Vicente, head of organization

Nádia Vicente was born in Camacan, Bahia, Brazil.
Graduated in Biology from the State University of Santa Cruz - UESC, Bahia.
As a musician, he was part of the Symphony Orchestra of Bahia as violinist and violist.
Besides, she is student of International Relations and nowdays develops activities in the Association of Classical Music of Galicia in the area of institutional relations, administrative activities and events such as the International Piano Competition "City of Vigo".

Graciela Galdo, technical director

Graciela Galdo Vigo was born in Ferrol, at the age of 8 she began her studies in piano and musical language at the Ferrol Conservatory, continuing her studies at the Santiago Compostela Conservatory where she obtained the Superior Degree in Piano and the Higher Degree in Chamber Music. with the highest grades. He has performed recitals and received numerous awards among which are the first prize in the Cidade de Ferrol Piano Competition and made piano courses with prestigious pianists such as Manuel Carra, Cecilio Tieles, Marina Samaghian, Angel Casado among many others.

Dilara Vardar, assistant

Born on July 27, 1996 in Turkey. In high school she started to study in Istanbul University State Conservatory when she finished she started to study with Pablo Galdo in Conservatorio Superior de la Musica de Vigo in Spain (2014-….). She attended masterclasses of  Professor Sthephen Kovacevich on 20

Betty Cortiñas Lorenzo, Assistant

Betty Cortiñas Lorenzo (Mos) started to play the piano at the age of 9 and from 2011 until 2016 she studied at the Professional Conservatory of Vigo. During these years, Betty joined the Conservatory ́s Senior Orchestra as soloist and became interested in composition. Among the pieces composed during this time, one was awarded in a contest that made Betty expeditionary in Ruta Quetzal 2016.

Alcino Oliveira Godinho, assistant

Alcino Oliveira Godinho, Rio de Janeiro, 1984, returns to Galicia, his father's land in 2009. At age 4 he began studying piano at the Jardim Guanabara Conservatory and Elly Gerbassi Conservatory in RJ where he received the training in Classical Piano, Theory Musical, International History of Music, Classical Harmony, Popular Electronic Organ, Brazilian Folklore and Choral Singing. There he has worked in musical projects and in music teaching in public schools and privately. Currently participates in sacred music projects in some churches of Vigo and Region.

Rubén Cruz Carrera, head of social networks

Born in Vigo, Degree in Economics from University of Vigo, and MBA from the IESIDE Business School. His professional career has been linked to the world of consulting for more than 12 years. He is creative by vocation and passionate about the audiovisual world, he has produced numerous short films and promotional videos, working as director and screenwriter. He also works as advisor in digital marketing and social media management. In 2018 he joined the team of the Classical Music Association of Galicia, collaborating in the creation of audiovisual content.

Saúl Chapela, composer and sound technician

Galician composer and pianist, born in Moaña in 1988. He is trained at Superior Conservatory of Music of Vigo, where he studies among others with Nicasio Gradaille, Pablo Galdo, Carlos Cambeiro and Juan Eiras. Then, he obtains a master in composition at University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Jan Müller-Wieland and Hans-Jürgen von Bose.

Carlos Javier, Presenter

He was born in Palencia. He began his piano studies at the Amadeus Academy and the Municipal School of Vigo. In 2002, he continues at the professional music Conservatory of Vigo, finishing with the Professional Degree award.

Damián Cazeneuve, Assistant

He was born in Neuquén. He began studying guitar with maestro Hugo Berbel at the age of 10. He studied higher education in Buenos Aires, and under the direction of Graciela Pomponio graduated from the National Conservatory with honour medal. He has performed concerts in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Slovenia, Liechtenstein, Germany and Austria.

David Conti, Assistant

A composer born in La Coruña. David was raised in Barcelona, a city where he would discover his passion formusic. There, he would also meet those who would become his most influential teachers — Miquel Martí Guardiaand Maria Assumpció Codina — with whom he trained both musically and in specialized composition subjects. 

Pablo Teijeiro Galdo, Assistant

Pablo Teijeiro began his cello studies at the age of 8 at the Xan Viañode Ferrol Conservatory, with professor Pablo Ponga, with whom he is currently studying the 6th year of the Professional Degree. Since he was 10 years old, he attends classes with elcellista of the Real Filarmonía de Galicia Thomas Piel. He has been a member of the Orquesta Infantil de la Sinfónica de Galicia and the Davis Youth Symphony of Utah.
