Efraín González Ruano (Mexico-Germany) began with piano lessons with his mother the profra. Ana María Ruano and later with teachers Francisco Orozco, Adriana Martínez, Joel Qui Vega, Anatoly Zatín and Leonor Montijo with whom she graduated from the career of music instructor at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara in 1994. He moved to Tijuana to continue with teachers Farizat Tchibirova and Irina Tcketchko.
It has been presented in concert halls and festivals in Europe and America, such as the "Mozartwoche" Festival in Salzburg, the Beethoven Fest in Bonn, the International "Klaviersommer" Festival of the Beethoven House in Bonn, the "Redlands Bowl Summer Festival" in California, or the International Piano Festival "En Blanco y Negro" at the National Center for the Arts of Mexico City among others. In Mexico they have been soloists of the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico and the Philharmonic of Jalisco.
Efraín González Ruano with his wife the German pianist Christine Gerwig has shared his talent to form a pianistic ensemble for 15 years. They met at the University "Mozarteum" in Salzburg, Austria in 2001, when both studied the career of soloist pianist with Professor Alfons Kontarsky, who inspired them and at the same time started in the rich and interesting world of literature for piano duo . (Alfons Kontarsky, with his brother Alois Kontarsky formed one of the most important legendary piano duos of the 20th century).

Parallel to her masters studies in the solo piano career, Christine Gerwig and Efraín González specialized in literature for piano duo at the "Mozarteum" University, studying in addition to their mentor Alfons Kontarsky, with Rolf Plagge and in 2004 at Munich Germany with Yaara Tal & Andreas Grothuysen, from whom they experienced a profound effect on their artistic identity as a Duo.
The duo "Gerwig & González" is the winner of the Concours Grieg International Piano Competition "Concours Grieg" in Oslo, Norway in 2008, and is the winner of the special prize for the best interpretation of the work of Edward Grieg awarded by the "Oslo Grieg Society & Norwegian Academy of Music ».
