After winning the Akademie Mozarteum Salzbourg Prize as the best pianist of 2008 , Carles Marín debuted at world renowned Salburger Festpielen -Grosser Saal of Mozarteum-, Wiener Saal, Festival d ' Echternacht-Luxembourg, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Florence Festival.
The past season he played with the Comunidad Valenciana-Palau de Les Arts Symphonic Orchestra, under the direction of Omer Meir Wellber , Lorin Maazel 's successor. He gave a piano solo recital in the Mediterrani International Festival , whose Artistic Director is the Maestro Zubin Mehta. Last September, he played the Rachmaninov 's Second Concerto at the Palau de la Música , in the Concert " Tribut to José Iturbi ", on the 120th birth anniversary.
He is the only Spanish pianist who has won the First Prize in the history of the Flame International Piano Competition, held in the UNESCO in Paris (2003), First Prize in Domenico Scarlatti " International Piano Competition" (Universität Mozarteum , Salzbourg 2007), First Prize HSP Huygens Award ( Amsterdam , 2007) , First Prize in Yamaha Foundation of Europe Competition ( Madrid, 2001 ) , and First Prize in the José Roca Competition (Valencia ,1998), Second Prize in the Marsala International Piano Competition (Italy, 2006) , Second Prize and "Best Performance Prize of Spanish Music"in the Carlet International Piano Competition (2005), Third Prize and " Audience Prize" in the Frechilla-Zuloaga Competition ( Valladolid, 1999 ), Third Prize in the Manuel de Falla Competition ( Granada, 2000). Other prizes include Baltic Piano Competition ( Poland, 2007) , Panama Piano Competition (Panama City , 2008) and Vianna da Motta Piano Competition (Lisbon, 2010). He has been awarded with the First Prize in ten National Competitions ( Ciudad de Albacete, Marisa Montiel, Ibiza, Infanta Cristina, etc.) and he won the scholarschip competitions IVM and Juventudes Musicales de Madrid.
He has recorded for T.V.E, Radio2 Classical R.N.E, Antena 2 Portugal, ORF Austria, RAI Italy and ABC FM from Australia . He has recorded for the labels Edicions Albert Moraleda of Barcelona,for Codarts MEDIA, Holland and for Nîbius of Madrid.
He is piano professor at Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio ( Madrid ).
